When it comes to sorting a child's emotions and understanding what's in their heads, we at Nick News believe no TV show can measure up to a parent. But we want to partner with you in the process. Start with this: The tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001 is going to be loud. Which means your kids can't avoid hearing about it. Actually, we know that most kids today already know something about what happened on that day,Christian Louboutin Sale, even though most of them don't remember the day (or weren't even born yet). We also know that many kids are confused. We've had kids tell us there were 500 planes carrying bombs, or that the hijackers were all Japanese, or that nothing at all happened on September 11, 2001,Monster Beats Studio, that it was all made up.

And so we've put together a show (What Happened? The Story of September 11, 2001) that tells children in plain,Beats Headphones, easy to understand terms exactly what did happen, separating fact from myth, and allowing for emotion. It's an important, though tragic, day in American history, and it deserves to be remembered correctly.

Although we never lie to kids,Christian Louboutin Outlet, our show does not include images of planes striking buildings, falling bodies or any other of the most horrifying images of that day. However, we will (on the air) encourage kids to invite a parent or other grownup they trust to watch our show with them, not because we think our show is scary (although the very fact of what happened is by definition "scary"), but because we think it makes good sense for parents to watch this with their kids.

Then you can listen to your child's thoughts and feelings about what they've seen and heard, and answer any questions they might have. As you know, kids absorb different kinds of information at different ages and nobody knows your child better than you.

As in all our shows, we also point out to kids that wherever you see bad things happening, you will find good people trying to make things better. This was never more true than on September 11, 2001, when hundreds thousands of people were willing to risk their lives to save others; a day when America was attacked but Americans came together.
