I saw my chance and I took it. My newborn speed was an advantage as I raced towards Darien in attack. He didn’t even see me coming when I grabbed his throat and bit a chunk out of it. It was easy as biting through juicy meat but sounded like shredding dry rock. Suddenly, there was a cry of force and all of my family members flew a hundred feet in the air with a blast of energy from Alpha. With a rip, I tore Darien’s head off and rammed it into the ground with an explosion of rage. He tried to kill me, he tried to kill my family, and he nearly drove us all apart. I could contain my hatred no longer.
Alpha got to me just a fraction of a second too late. He threw me off of him with much force. His hand closed around my throat as he slammed me into the ground. I winced as the sound was like thunder. A bright light seemed to radiate Alpha’s whole body as his hand coursed pure energy through my own body. I screamed in anguish as I felt so many changes and so many abilities entered and left my body.
Alpha had his other hand outstretched holding my family –who had crashed back down to Earth- in their places mid stride. I could hear my name being called but there was such a loud humming in my ears like a machine that I couldn’t quite hear the rest of the world. My hair and skin color changed colors variously as my identity morphed a mile a minute. Every thought in Washington was pounding inside my head. My eyes were glowing and shining bright rays of light through my eye balls. I saw glimpse of futures from people I didn’t even know existed. I saw a few familiar faces and caught sight of one particular prediction that almost made me stop screaming but I didn’t know if it was from the future or the past. There was too much pain. I felt physical and emotional pain of every person I had ever come in contact with. I felt fire erupt in a circle around Alpha, myself and my family, isolating us from any other interference such as wolves. Water doused the entire field as the earth shifted and the clouds darkened and covered the sky even thicker than before. It began to rain lightly. Little did I know,Beats By Dre Sale, Alpha was witnessing my entire past present and future and feeling all of my pain and hearing every one of my thoughts. He was looking into my soul, my dreams. Little did I know, however, he was draining himself into me. My mind converged with his for a second before he finally released me from the power and my screaming stopped.
“You don’t have to do this anymore!” I screamed once I could breathe again. Alpha looked at me with a dismal hate as if I had just slaughtered his brother. “He’s dead! He can’t lie to you anymore.”
“You’re wrong! He never lied to me!” Alpha screamed, speaking for the first time. His voice was like magic. It was musical and masculine but so young too. He never stood a chance. He was angry that I had destroyed his only thing to protect above all other things.
“Yes, he did! We aren’t bad people.” I tried to convince him as I glanced at my frozen family –they couldn’t talk either now. “What did he tell you? Did he try to convince you that we are awful creatures? We don’t even kill humans, for Christ’s sake! He was the animal, the monster. Do you see that boy over there?” I pointed at Landon as his eyes were glued on me for what seemed permanently. I felt an invisible force pin me to the ground as Landon followed my gesture and look at Landon as if he had seen him before –inside my head. “Darien tried to kill him. A man in his own coven –a brother- and he wanted to kill him. That’s the only reason we killed Savannah. They were going to kill us if we didn’t fight.” Alpha looked back at me with a pensive expression. He was struggling with internal conflict. “You don’t want to do this. You are not a killer. I’ve seen inside of you, now. This is not how the story ends.” I strained my eyes on him with a pleading look. He was silent for the longest time. I swear that his grip loosened on all of us…but then he smirked.
“You don’t know me. You saw what I wanted you to see.” Alpha replied finally. He wasn’t evil at all. He just knew that he held all of the power but I did see in his head. All of that power was pressuring down on him that he couldn’t take. “But I’ve seen everything inside your head. I see everything. Your dreams, your past, your future; I see your soul.” One would think he would sound maniacal but he didn’t at all. He sounded like a small child listing what he had learned from his day at school. He was emotionless but innocent.
“But at least we have them…souls.” I breathed as I realized he believed that creatures like us could still have souls. There was hope for him…if he or any of us lived. Alpha brushed off my comment.
“I know that you are in love with two people. I know that your family and friends are the most important things in your existence. And I know what your deepest desire is.” He smiled slightly as he revealed my inner most secrets to the world. I stared at him with empty eyes. “To be human...”
“You’re wrong.” I whispered.
“Don’t tell me I’m wrong!” Alpha’s burst of anger almost made me jump. “I’ve seen it. You wish to go back to simpler feelings like when you only loved one person and all you needed was your best friend.”
“And no one was trying to kill me or my family.” I added sharply and he gave an irritated chuckle.
“Don’t you understand? I can solve all of your problems.”
“That’s hard to believe considering you are one of my problems.” When did I get so cocky? It was so uncharacteristic of me in the first place and in a time like this I couldn’t believe I was spitting out back talk like no tomorrow.
“You’ve got to stop doing that.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. Was I interrupting your villain speech?” My sarcasm: what is wrong with me?! I felt my lips press tightly together and I failed to separate them no matter how hard I tried. He had silenced me against my will.
“That’s better. I’ll give you a choice: either I can drain you of every above human possibility quality in your body…or I can kill you and your family. Hell, maybe I will change the rest of your family back too? Maybe you will live to a ripe old age or maybe you will die tomorrow? Either way, I’m doing you a favor.” He removed my verbal restraint for me to reply. I thought for a moment very seriously about this. To be human again was all some of us ever wanted. I thought of Rosalie and how much she wanted children. I thought of Carlisle and Esme who looked like the perfect people to grow old and sit on a porch swing together with ice tea. Edward always believed it was a curse and not a lifestyle. Bella could grow up to see her grandchildren actually call her ‘Grandma.’
“Let them speak and then I will decide.” I requested and looked at my family. Their eyes were fixated of course on us. Alpha gave them one glance and a few lips parted but no words came. Landon was the only person not looking at me was Landon. He was staring at Jasper but I couldn’t read his expression. Jasper’s eyes were boring into mine at this point and he hadn’t looked away. I had forgotten the part about loving two people. Only Jasper and I knew that part before and now everyone else did. “I’m so sorry.” I apologized as Landon turned his gaze back on me. I still couldn’t read his expression.
“Do it.” He said to me in a straight voice.
“What?” I stared at him from the ground.
“Be human. We all want it. It’s the life for us. We can start over for real this time. This will be better for everyone –for you.” He replied sincerely.
“No, don’t do it!” Jasper contradicted and the family looked at him. “Are you crazy?”
“It’s best for the family, for her. I would think you of all people would care about her too.” Landon argued,UGG Outlet Store, his beautiful twisted in a long overdue quarrel.
“How would you know what’s best for the family? You barely know the family! This is my family. How long have you been here?”
“Long enough! I care about this family just as much as you do.” Jasper scoffed at this.

“She is my family now! Why are you arguing this? Don’t you want this?! Don’t you want this for you? For your family? For her?!” Landon’s voice was escalated now.
“No! This is not what I want. Our family has been through too much in this life to return now. If it weren’t for what we are now, we wouldn’t be a family. And if we all become human again –succumb to the disheartened and cruel world of today- then we won’t survive, we won’t be a family,Moncler Coats, we will lose each other. So you may want what’s best for her but I want what’s best for this family –which is all of us…including Heidi.” Jasper was perfectly reasonable with passion. Landon had nothing to say back and they just stared at each other. A few moments passed.
“Don’t do it, honey.” Esme smiled finally as she looked down at me.
“We wouldn’t trade this life now for anything and neither should you.” Carlisle backed up Esme.
“I can’t imagine life without you as little sister, kid.” Emmett chimed in with a usual grin of his.
“It’s okay, Heidi,” Rosalie crossed her arms and I thought about what she was giving up. Alice said nothing all the while she stared at me and I felt wrenching guilt course through me as I tried not to look at her.
“You would rather die than achieve your deepest desire?” Alpha wondered and searched my face.
“They’re my family…” I replied simply and Alpha’s voice offering the other option echoed in my head. “You don’t have to kill anyone.”
“Yes, I do.” He answered immediately. “He said, no matter what happens I have to kill you. I don’t have a choice.” For the first time, Alpha’s voice shook and his eyes shut in concentration.
“There is always a choice.” I assured with firmness. “You can have a family…just like us.”
“I…I can’t…” His fingers slipped from my throat and I sat up. “I can’t kill you after seeing…everything.”
“See, there’s always a choice.” I managed a smile at the man who had been trying to kill my family and me for a very long time now.
“You don’t understand. I can never have a family. I’ve seen your future and I’m making a choice. But you’ll never know if I changed it or just set it in motion. Promise me, you will kill me after this.” He said ominously and I didn’t understand. Suddenly, his hand flew up towards my family and with one motion, Alice and Landon were gone. I whimper escaped my lips and the wind was knocked out of me.
“What have you done with them?!” Jasper roared and I looked at Alpha. Alpha turned his head to the side and we all followed his line of vision. There on the complete opposite side of the field, maybe 2 miles away, were two distinct piles of flames licking through the air. A scream echoed through the air but still no one would move their bodies. We were forced to watch as two of our family members were burned to ash.

Changing into a summer dress and slippers,UGG Outlet Store, the mirror showed an elvish queen. I smiled to see the background; Jacob was there on the bed, curled up asleep. He seems so young and innocent when he was sleeping. I went out on the balcony, feeling the wind blow all around me. Exhaling the scents, honey and flowers, I was at ease finally after years to find where I fits in and belonged. I belonged to Jacob; I was his in every way.
Jacob must woken up because he was hugging my waist, kissing my neckline. He had begun to turn me around so I can face him, seeing his beautiful brown eyes.
"Wanna have dinner tonight?" He sounded so hopeful.
"Sure, my plan is to talk to Hannah and we leave tonight alright?" I smiled to see him zoning out.
"Yeah. Right, whatever you say darling." He said, while seemingly obviously was in another world.
I walked outside to the chilly forest. The green of Forks never ceased to amaze me, and the nature never failed to entertain me. I sat down outside under a big fir tree. I had so much to think about. Hannah was happy here, she had horses and family and friends. What scared me is how much she was wanted, everyday she proved to be a little better. I was sitting pondering that when I heard someone approaching me. I turned expecting Jake or Aro when I saw Carlisle. He started by saying, "Mind if I sit next to you Maggie?"
I wanted to say no. He annoyed me for some reason. "Of course you can..." I said with enough civility.
"I feel the need to explain myself to you. About Hannah, about everything that is going on. And Esme and I want to offer something to you. But let me start at the beginning if I may." He said bowing his head, giving me respect.
I felt bad. I had not treated him with total kindness. I had been brisk and emotionless to this kind man. "Umm... Okay." I stuttered.
He nodded. "Well Esme never got the child she wanted. She attempted death because of her real child dying. She never has felt complete since. She is very maternal if you haven't noticed." He chuckled and then continued.
"We have our two daughters, Alice and Rosalie. We have our three sons, Edward, Emmett, and Jasper. But these children are so self-sufficient. They never really had the choice of choosing us, except Alice and Jasper; they were just brought back by us. Hannah proves to be an obstacle for us all. At first Esme was completely absorbed with helping you, fixing you, making sure you were okay. Everyone loves you dearly if you didn't know. You’re quite an amazing young woman. But you see it’s just that you’re so your own person. Do you understand? You think you need us to protect you, and trust us we will in a minute. It’s just that I have always wanted a daughter; Esme has always wanted a child. Hannah is just that. She chose us, she needs us, she loves us, she wishes to learn from us,Cheap Vibram, and most of all she listens and observes everything. It’s quite fascinating."
So basically he just told me everything that I already knew. "Thank you Carlisle. You don’t need to explain. Honestly… this had been my plan all along. Hannah needs a family… a family who would protect her. I don’t need you to protect me. But I do need you to protect my sister.”
Then he shook his head. "No, I said that wrong. It’s not so much that she needs us. It’s that we all need her. She fills up a void in us, a place that was always empty once we lost our mortality. I mean, Edward thought he didn't have a soul until he met Hannah! I mean Emmett has matured so much since he’s met Hannah. Jasper never has been so absorbed until he met Hannah. Alice talks to her all the time, and never bores. Hannah is very tolerant; I suppose you taught her that. Rosalie is kind to her, to a human, it’s very strange. Esme is humming and happy, completely content. And I, I feel great, I research and do everything to keep that little human safe."
I smiled, he was right. It was nice that they were happy. "It’s great that you love Hannah. I'm really.... happy. She needs to be the center of the attention. But I don’t belong here. I am in your way."
He looked a bit peeved by that remark,Cheap Vibram Five Fingers, but kept cool. "Your people need you. You are the Queen of the Elves. Jacob needs you. He is your one true love. Do I personally need you? I enjoy you being here, I think you’re an interesting person. But if you want to leave, I'm not stopping you. I don't think you should. He said calmly.
“I am thinking of everybody in this equation. I have to move onto the La Push because it’s fair to Jacob. It’s not fair to him that he has to be separated from his pack in order to be with me. And my people will go anywhere with me. The only fear that I have is that you may be afraid to let Hannah come and visit me. After all… I am her baby sister. And she may needs a break from you all sometime.” I smiled.
"She is quite addictive." He started chuckling. And then paused. "I'm sure we could work something out." He said.
I interrupted, "No. My sister taught me better than that. Her worst fear is getting in the way. And I can tell that I'm getting in the way. I'm leaving tonight." I said when Carlisle interrupted me.
"If you leave tonight, you'll leave your sister in pieces. And I can't have you do that. And besides Esme and I have made a decision about something for you... That is if you want it." He ended with a slight tone of embarrassment.
"Leave my sister in pieces? She’ll be fine. What is the decision?" I ended a bit sour.
“Esme, Alice, Rose, Emmett, Jasper, Edward, and I have been working on... a house. For you and Jacob. It’s on the line, the reservation line and our side line. It’s close enough to our house, just 20 miles to and from and you and Jacob can close that gap in a few seconds. But it’s built and ready,Moncler, if you want it." He said.
"Well I thank you for that. Can I ask you a question?" I said.
"Well we have one more offer. But your question first." Carlisle said.
"How is Mike? I can't wait to see him. I'm waiting until he figures out whom we are." I said.
He chuckled and got an adoring look in his eyes, "Mike is fine. He isn't close to figuring us out though. He is determined to think of us as normal. Maybe seeing you would help. He is quite a good boy. He's interested in Bella. It’s cute. Hannah encourages it greatly. They are an interesting pair Hannah and Alan."
"Perhaps you are right. Anyway what is your one more offer?" I said.
He got an embarrassed look again, "Well, don't freak out. But Alice and Esme demanded I make the offer right before it happened. But please remain calm..."
"Okay, I promise I'll remain calm. I know Alice... She does things crazy...." I said.
He got the same adoring look when he heard Alice's name. "Well, when Jacob proposes… we would like to throw the wedding. With your help of course. But Alice and Esme love weddings, and they would love it." He finished as quickly as possible.
"Why is everyone saying that Jacob is going to propose? I'm only 16! We had only met like… two weeks ago. But if so, alright. They can do my wedding with two exceptions-" I began.
"Wait wait wait. He hasn't asked yet? Alice! I'm so sorry Maggie. I've got to go." He said in a rush, patting my head and standing up.
"Um... Alright..." I said, watching as Carlisle ran towards his house.
I sat there pondering what had just happened. Jacob was going to propose to me. When would he do it? Did Hannah know about this? I would say yes, I knew that. I bit my lip to keep from crying and let him hold me, let me remember what it felt like to belong here with him, like puzzle pieces.
He pulled away after not a lot of time, knowing what had been said and knowing that we weren’t about to take it back, that now wasn’t that day. He just looked at me for a moment.
“You look tired,” he finally observed, and I almost burst out laughing. I bit my cheek to keep myself silent, my eyes glancing away from his.
“I am,” I agreed softly, shaking my head. “What does that matter?”
“You need to sleep,” he told me like there was any chance of me being able to sleep after the day I had just had, after all of the news I had just learned about what awaited us in enough days to count on my fingers.
“I will,” I told him, but I think we both knew that I was lying through my teeth. I tried to smile and I suppose I succeeded. “No need to be a mother hen, Embry, I’ll be fine. I can take care of myself.”
“The thing is,” he admitted, “I don’t think you can.”
I looked at him, surprised, but he wouldn’t look at me. His hands dropped from my arms, and he turned away from me.
“You’re falling apart,” he told me like maybe I didn’t notice. I bit my cheek again. “I can’t stand watching you tear yourself apart day after day. You don’t sleep. You don’t eat. I don’t know how to help you because you seem to be pushing me away more and more with every passing minute, and there is nothing I could say or do to get you to let me back in. There is nothing I can do, Dom, and it kills me that you won’t let me help.”
“I can take care of myself,” I repeated. This time it was his turn to laugh inappropriately.

“I’m trying as hard as I can,” I said harshly, my voice rising with the level of heat running through my veins. I need you just to let this blow over until the end of the battle.”
“And then what?” he roared, turning back, turning on me. I faltered, momentarily stunned by the heat behind his words. “What happens after the battle, Dom? Oh,Cheap Vibram, yeah, that’s right—you bury my body.”
I got the mental picture—a cold closed casket, a hole in the earth, my everything breaking into a thousand pieces—and I was breathless, unable to answer. My heart stung so painfully that my hand came up and clasped over it, desperate tears escaping out of the corners of my eyes. My free hand impatiently brushed them away. I looked up and stepped up, facing off with Embry.
“You’re not going to die,” I told him softly, forcefully, breaking, but he just scoffed.
“Yeah, right. I know the odds, Dom. Or have you forgotten that we can read each other’s minds?”
“To hell with the odds, Embry. Worry about the actual fight. You’ll make it out.”
“I’m sure I will,” he mocked me, “but what happens after that? Would we just magically return to normal, like this last week never happened?”
And that was why I had been avoiding coming here—because I had been asking myself the same question, and I knew the same answer that he did. I might be his imprint and he might be mine, but we won’t just bounce back without remembering everything. It won’t quite go back to normal immediately because it had been damaged.
And I guess I could let myself take the blame for that, too.
I buried my hands into my hair, ripping and tugging. “What do you want me to do, Embry?”
“I want you to stop lying to yourself.”
“It seems as though you’re mistaken,” I told him, my voice shaking like an earthquake, threatening to bring it all crashing down. “If there is someone I’m lying to, it certainly isn’t me. I’m lying to everyone besides myself nowadays.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” he demanded, but I wouldn’t look at him.

Eventually the train arrived and you entered. Shizuo’s lovely glare of ‘please move, we want to sit down’ managed to have some people stand up and you sitting down. Even though you tried to say: ‘No, no. You sit down. You people are older than I am… bla bla bla.” Shizuo pushed you down and put the two bags in the racks above. “Can I stay for dinner? Shizuo was quite a fast eater. And he ate a lot. You were a slow eater because the Japanese television was so weird and amusing. Most of the time you couldn’t even eat because you were laughing to much with your head on the table, tears in your eyes. Shizuo would calmly ask for thirds and fourths until you were out of food. You two ate pudding at the end.
The sun was down already and you and Shizuo were sitting next to each other. It felt very awkward to you while Shizuo seemed very relaxed. He kept staring at the television which showed some show where Japanese girls had to attempt talking English. He didn’t seem to be able to find any problems with their English, maybe because his wasn’t much better than theirs. You glanced at him from the corner of your eyes, your heart jumping and jumping in your chest. Never before did you realize how handsome he was. Those fierce eyes, drilling holes in the television, that mouth that produced more decibels than a rock concert, that body that could endure more than diamonds and is stronger than a million elephants.
